Myanmar produces upward of 70 percent of the world's supply of high-quality jadeite. Most of the Myanmar's jadeite is exported to other nations, primarily Asian, for use in jewelry, art, and ornaments.
Miners in Myanmar have uncovered a colossal jadeite jade boulder, weighing nearly 175 tones. Burma, now known as Myanmar, is the world's largest producer of natural jadeite. It is the source of 70% of the world's most exquisite quality jade.
